DESCRIPTION
The KIC-DLM is the “magnum” version of KIC class of containers with electrical interface connector. It is provided of a proprietary mechanical interface and locking mechanism for insertions on a dedicated platform. The unit is qualified for crew operations on ISS that can insert and remove each KIC-DLM from the platform. The KIC-DLM is composed by a main body (where the electrical interface connector is located) and the top cover (fixed by bolts to main body). The KIC-DLM is made of certified material with excellent mechanical and chemical structural properties. Its external and internal surfaces undergone appropriate treatment to guarantee electrical isolation and/or corrosion resistance. The KIC-DLM provides two Level of Containment (LoC). The KIC-DLM is provided with a standardized electrical connector that allows its use on existing facilities or equipment available on ISS. Alternative connectors can be implemented on request. In its standard configuration the KIC-DLM is fully qualified for manned missions and for many of the carriers available today.
